00:00:14
This session is related to a usage situation and
00:00:17
one is entitled "How to produce: Finalize reports
00:00:20
remotely with your team."
00:00:21
My name is Steven Ryan and I'll be your
00:00:23
trainer for this short session.
00:00:29
So, in this session we'll look at a particular situation, then see
00:00:36
how different products from the Office 365 subscription can help
00:00:39
us deal with that particular
00:00:42
We'll start by looking briefly at the Office
00:00:44
365 portal and then we'll look at what we can do with Word
00:00:46
online and Skype for Business to see how they can help us in
00:00:49
this particular situation.
00:00:58
Presentation is about use possibilities and we can use the
00:01:00
rest of the MOOC curriculum, which will discuss later as a
00:01:03
training action going forward.
00:01:08
So this is our particular situation: You as well as members
00:01:11
of your team have just received a very urgent email from a
00:01:14
it is essential you provide a response to that
00:01:16
within the next hour or so. To do this,
00:01:18
you need the participation
00:01:19
and collaboration from different colleagues.
00:01:21
Each one offers you know
00:01:22
specific different elements that must be employed in the report
00:01:24
that your client is waiting for. Everyone appears to be available
00:01:28
but the only issue is: There are only two of those six people are
00:01:31
actually in your office.
00:01:32
So let's see how we deal with that situation. First we'll have a
00:01:35
quick introduction to the Office 365 environment.
00:01:41
So just to talk about Office 365 itself, so this is a subscription
00:01:46
service from Microsoft
00:01:48
that gives organizations a Cloud
00:01:49
based environment, not only for communication with their
00:01:51
colleagues and working together collaboratively but also for
00:01:54
storage of files and documents
00:01:57
It provides organizations with Cloud based
00:01:59
Mail service to exchange online. As part of this subscription,
00:02:03
also Cloud based communication tool and service via Skype for
00:02:07
Business online, Cloud based websites through SharePoint
00:02:10
online and also online versions of office applications such as
00:02:12
Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote.
00:02:16
You can access the Office 365 subscription by navigating in
00:02:19
your web browser to portal.office.com and that's
00:02:22
accessible from several different devices: PCs,
00:02:26
notebooks, laptops, mobiles.
00:02:30
And when you log into
00:02:32
that portal.office.com,
00:02:33
It'll take you to your homepage or
00:02:37
You can either click on the icon in the Top
00:02:38
left corner up here, which we refer to as the start menu
00:02:44
Or on the landing page itself.
00:02:45
You can click on the different
00:02:46
tiles available to access the various available
00:02:49
which is your Mail or Calendar or OneDrive, SharePoint and
00:02:53
the Office online applications.
00:02:57
So let's take a quick look at a live environment now and on
00:03:00
the online demo environment.
00:03:07
So here we can see an Office 365 subscription. We're on the
00:03:12
That is sort of the first landing page
00:03:14
get when you log in.
00:03:15
And there's a few things we can see on here; We can see the tiles
00:03:17
that we can click on to access the various component parts. So
00:03:20
we got 3 pieces of the Outlook
00:03:23
tool here: Mail, Calendar and people to your Contacts; We've
00:03:26
also got access to Yammer tile,
00:03:28
OneDrive for storage,
00:03:32
SharePoint for websites; And we also have some other tools on here like
00:03:35
the Planner and Video and Delve. And you can also see we have
00:03:38
tiles for the Office online applications, namely: Word, Excel
00:03:42
PowerPoint and OneNote.
00:03:44
We click in the Top left corner; This click is your
00:03:46
"Start Menu" online button.
00:03:50
We can see that shows us all the tiles that we can again with the
00:03:54
we can launch via that start button and this is
00:03:57
What's on this launchpad here because you can
00:03:59
see as I hover over each of the tiles.
00:04:00
This little Ellipsis
00:04:01
button that I can click on; so if you wanted to swap this store
00:04:04
tile for example, for a different tile, click on that
00:04:07
Ellipsis button, choose unpin from the launcher and then if we
00:04:10
go to click View all my apps,
00:04:13
we'll see a list of all the different applications that are
00:04:15
available for us to add to the
00:04:18
Start menu; So let's add to
00:04:22
something else... uh... the Planner for example.
00:04:24
Let's click on that and
00:04:26
pin to App launcher.
00:04:28
And if we go back to the homepage.
00:04:30
We can see already that
00:04:31
it is on the start menu.
00:04:32
And if I click on it now, you can see
00:04:33
the Planners now been added.
00:04:35
Let's click back on the Start
00:04:37
Homepage to get back to where we started.
00:04:41
And a couple of things I want to show on here is the Settings
00:04:44
button; So click on the cog up here in the Top right.
00:04:46
It opens up the settings menu and from here, you can do things
00:04:49
like modify your theme the look and feel of the environment.
00:04:54
can see there's quite a lot to choose from.
00:04:56
different themes snow, ice, cats, robots, circuits, all sorts of
00:05:01
different things.
00:05:05
Or bricks and then save that theme.
00:05:11
We can also do things like change our landing page, so
00:05:13
rather than just starting on the default
00:05:15
Homepage, this is a
00:05:16
page that we can see.
00:05:17
Now we can click on this drop down
00:05:18
list and choose a different page to start from so if you
00:05:21
most commonly go to your Mail, sort of your first thing in the
00:05:24
then you might want to choose that as your landing
00:05:26
You'll start page to click on save you can also see
00:05:28
options here for things like changing your password and
00:05:31
changing the language and time zones... We'll leave those for the
00:05:33
moment just close the settings down.
00:05:37
And if I want to launch an application.
00:05:38
I got the choice of
00:05:39
either clicking on the tiles down here to launch one or
00:05:42
clicking in the start menu.
00:05:43
Up here to do the same thing.
00:05:46
Let's click on the Mail app here to open up
00:05:49
So this is a Mail component of Outlook.
00:05:53
And you can see that that theme sort of permeated through into
00:05:55
the product as well.
00:05:59
Since our mailbox if I click again, you can see how quickly
00:06:01
how easy it is to switch from app to app.
00:06:03
So I want to go to
00:06:04
the calendar and said, just click on the start menu click
00:06:06
on the calendar tile.
00:06:10
So it is much quicker to go use the start menu to switch
00:06:12
applications than it is to go back to the landing page and
00:06:14
select on that tiles on the homepage.
00:06:18
will work just the same way.
00:06:20
And Lastly off just to show another one in here, so if
00:06:22
you want to open people during our Contacts list.
00:06:25
can do that as well.
00:06:26
And again, you see the theme is through there as well, and
00:06:30
we can see the same sort of look and feel is available OK.
00:06:32
I'm just going to click back on the homepage again.
00:06:41
And switch back to our slides
00:06:45
So going back to our slides, so just look at the portal there in
00:06:50
the tiles available in the start
00:06:53
In the Top left corner.
00:06:54
We also looked at the settings
00:06:56
available from the settings icon by clicking on the cog up in the
00:06:59
Top right hand corner.
00:07:00
So let's go back to think about our situation so.
00:07:04
Some of our coworkers are not working in the office; they're away
00:07:08
in different locations.
00:07:09
Therefore, they don't have full
00:07:10
access to the full office application suite Office 365
00:07:14
still provides them with quick access to those online versions
00:07:17
of Word, Excel, and PowerPoint and OneNote, so they can work with
00:07:19
them remotely and collaborate
00:07:21
on the projects and documents and files and so on with us; So those
00:07:26
online apps offer real time collaboration and co-authoring
00:07:30
So in terms of trust, to sort of finalize our
00:07:32
document remotely, not an issue there.
00:07:35
Now that we've got access to these
00:07:36
online application versions.
00:07:38
And they also support collaborative
00:07:41
work in real time and co-authoring capabilities, using
00:07:44
the online or the on-premises full blown editions.
00:07:50
So kick off by looking at Word online first of all to see how that
00:07:55
So as part of our Office 365 subscription as said.
00:07:58
we get all the online versions of the office applications and
00:08:01
Word online allows us to simultaneously
00:08:04
This works not just for the online version
00:08:07
but also, if you've got the full on premises versions office
00:08:09
applications as well.
00:08:10
They work collaboratively in just the same
00:08:12
way, allowing you to do
00:08:15
So when you're working on the document at the same
00:08:16
time as another user,
00:08:17
You'll see a visual indicator that alerts you to
00:08:19
the fact that someone else is editing
00:08:20
the document at the
00:08:21
same time as you; And it also shows you the whereabouts in the
00:08:25
they're currently working so now you know...
00:08:26
which sort of sections to avoid while you're also working somewhere
00:08:28
else in the document.
00:08:29
Even on the same page or slide.
00:08:32
be working on the same slide or page; so as long as you're not working
00:08:35
directly on the same
00:08:37
Paragraph, for example, block of text as the
00:08:41
So up here we can
00:08:44
without synchronous as we said modifications you got
00:08:46
visibility of that going on so up in the Top right of the
00:08:50
You can see that the screenshot here, which is the
00:08:52
screenshot that you'll see in PowerPoint at the moment to show
00:08:55
you when someone else is editing another slide in the same
00:08:57
PowerPoint deck as you're working on.
00:09:01
We also have security of those modifications, one because
00:09:07
we know other people working in it.
00:09:08
At the same time, and sort
00:09:09
of block us from working in the
00:09:11
But we also have the availability of using version
00:09:16
So we can go into.
00:09:18
Look at the versions of a particular document from our
00:09:21
SharePoint site for example.
00:09:24
or OneDrive, look at its version history and then use it
00:09:28
to either view that earlier version or or delete it or even
00:09:32
restore it back to a previous version by selecting the older
00:09:35
file and restoring it back
00:09:38
One other thing also, notice when you're working with
00:09:40
the online versions of documents is that there's no Save options.
00:09:43
There's no file save option.
00:09:44
That's because, as you work in
00:09:45
the online versions.
00:09:46
Your documents are saved
00:09:47
automatically and you'll see that visibly that as you start
00:09:50
typing a Word document or
00:09:52
a PowerPoint slide; And you make changes you'll see.
00:09:55
says saving and then saved immediately just a couple of
00:09:57
seconds after it so those things happen in on live as
00:10:00
you... as you're making those edits to the online document.
00:10:03
So we'll switch over to the live demo environment again
00:10:06
and see that in action.
00:10:10
So to see that collaboration, real time collaboration action,
00:10:17
go to one of the SharePoint sites already opened; The
00:10:22
SharePoint site here with
00:10:23
documents in it.
00:10:27
files in here and some PowerPoint slide decks also got a mailing
00:10:34
And if I right click on one of those we'll see we get
00:10:36
the option to open it in the full blown office version or in
00:10:39
the online version of PowerPoint; You can see we can also do
00:10:42
things like download the file, share it... rename, delete or copy.
00:10:45
Look at the version history.
00:10:47
And so on if we do the similar thing by clicking on the
00:10:50
ellipsis button here.
00:10:51
This opens up more options.
00:10:54
three dots is the ellipsis.
00:10:55
You get quick preview of that file
00:10:57
so you can see in this case, it's a slideshow slide deck.
00:11:00
And as the slide so you can see, things like you know
00:11:03
when it's changed and who is shared within the URL to
00:11:07
You can open it, share it.
00:11:08
follow it and also
00:11:09
by clicking on the more actions ellipsis button here.
00:11:12
You can see we get the same options as we do when we
00:11:14
right clicked on the file so those same options are the
00:11:16
same ones that you see when you right click on it here,
00:11:19
so that allows you to say to open in the full version or
00:11:21
in the online version.
00:11:23
Similarly, with the Word doc
00:11:24
you get the same options.
00:11:25
In fact, I would open that on in PowerPoint online first.
00:11:31
show you that and then I'll show it in Word as well.
00:11:35
It's not just loading up that
00:11:46
We do have someone else is working on
00:11:47
this file so we should see in a moment when they open it as
00:11:51
They will get a notification informing us that
00:11:53
someone else is working on that
00:11:55
particular file.
00:11:59
And you see that just popped up announces appear Vivien
00:12:02
Goude is also editing.
00:12:06
And that will change and show what slide they're working on as
00:12:12
they move around the document so for example, if I get them to
00:12:15
click on slide 2,
00:12:19
you should see this updates to show them editing slide 2, OK.
00:12:25
And on their side of things, they show me as editing on slide
00:12:28
1, I'll just bring that.
00:12:31
Across you to see that.
00:12:33
So this is their view, if they see me working
00:12:37
on slide 1 over there.
00:12:43
And if I go to the same slide that they're working
00:12:50
Get them to start working
00:12:54
with some of the text for example.
00:12:56
You'll see that now pops up, showing us that Vivien Goude is
00:13:00
working in that section of the document.
00:13:02
So you get these
00:13:03
visual indicators that you know that someone else is working in
00:13:05
did not just that.
00:13:06
They're working but also that their
00:13:08
whereabouts in the document they're editing at the moment.
00:13:11
Somebody could do the same thing for Word, let's switch
00:13:16
And I will open up here.
00:13:19
Mailing document.
00:13:21
And it will open up in Word online.
00:13:26
A similar thing will happen here will get indicators that
00:13:30
someone else is working in the document as well.
00:13:36
So already we can see that Vivien Goude is in that document.
00:13:47
And again if I get them to highlight or something start
00:13:49
working on the text.
00:13:50
You'll see indicators popping out the show,
00:13:51
you where abouts they're working in the document in that time, so
00:13:55
again visual indicators.
00:13:56
So you know that that part of the
00:13:58
documents currently being worked on and who by.
00:14:05
The next thing I want to show you is the version
00:14:07
history information.
00:14:09
So I'll just get them to make a minor change.
00:14:17
And you can see that change occuring on our screen that
00:14:22
Vivien has made a change to that
00:14:26
And notice it says saved up in the Top pyramid in the
00:14:28
menu bar, so that's
00:14:29
automatically saved and.
00:14:31
As you're working on it,
00:14:32
and you'll notice if I click on the File menu.
00:14:39
There's only a "Save as", there is no "Save" option because saves
00:14:42
because saves are made automatically when you're working directly on the online
00:14:44
versions of these applications.
00:14:49
So let's switch back to the document library again.
00:14:51
And this time, we're going to look at the version history of the
00:14:56
document. Click on version
00:14:58
Then you can access that either by right clicking
00:15:00
on it or by going to the ellipsis and looking at the
00:15:02
second ellipsis button and now we can see the first version.
00:15:05
Now we got second versions change the slight change in
00:15:10
There may also be some additional comments.
00:15:11
That might have been
00:15:12
added by that user.
00:15:13
And we can see the date and time
00:15:16
And note, you could click on these dropdown
00:15:18
arrows here... this allows you to view that version.
00:15:23
version or restore to that version as well.
00:15:27
OK let's head back to the slides for a moment again.
00:15:35
So there we saw how in Word online and indeed the other
00:15:37
applications like PowerPoint aligned or we can get that real
00:15:40
time collaboration and visibility of the effect that
00:15:43
someone else is working in the document and indeed whereabouts
00:15:45
in the document working and who they are so you might see
00:15:48
someone working in a certain paragraph of the report and you
00:15:51
could go into instant message chat in Skype and also see them
00:15:53
in it and then pops of a chat with about you know what
00:15:56
they're making and where they're making them and so on, so
00:15:58
that you get real collaboration and the security of those
00:16:01
modifications by virtue of the fact that one,
00:16:03
you can see that
00:16:04
they're doing, it and what they're doing, and where they're
00:16:05
working and also the fact that you've got access to the version
00:16:09
Restore back to other versions or view the changes
00:16:11
made by the people as you're
00:16:14
So the second token to look at in this part is
00:16:15
the Skype for Business.
00:16:18
So you've modified that final version of the document in real
00:16:21
time with other colleagues.
00:16:22
You may want to use Skype for
00:16:23
Business to also
00:16:24
launch meetings for discussing peoples tasks or
00:16:26
start a brainstorming session with other coworkers and so on.
00:16:32
So Skype for Business is very easy to use, I often get to used the analogy
00:16:36
here for sort of a remote control or
00:16:37
zapper that just really
00:16:38
quick of the button to see if someone's available hover over
00:16:41
someone's picture to see and interact with them.
00:16:45
see they're available.
00:16:46
You can click the buttons that pop out
00:16:47
to start an instant message chat.
00:16:50
voice call or video call see that contact card.
00:16:52
And so on, so that
00:16:53
availability also known as presence permeates throughout
00:16:57
the product So what you see in Skype for Business in terms of
00:17:00
availability is also viewable in
00:17:05
And people in Contacts and so on, as well.
00:17:07
So not only is availability available to you, but also you
00:17:12
start over here an instant message chat you can start a
00:17:15
voice video call and and there's lots of tools
00:17:18
available for collaboration, Wilster in those conference
00:17:20
calls and video calls that allow you to do things like
00:17:25
Add attachments to the
00:17:26
conversation or having coauthor on office documents
00:17:29
and also you can do remote presentation.
00:17:33
present your entire desktop or an individual program that
00:17:35
you select or you can present a PowerPoint file as well as
00:17:38
part of that conference that's going on.
00:17:43
So let's again have a look at that in the live environment.
00:17:47
So here we are... We got Skype for Business opened up here; we got version
00:17:53
We can see they're logged in as John Doe, which is sort of the
00:17:55
name used for the user
00:17:56
one DOT standard account.
00:17:58
logged in for the demos and we can see I can change my status.
00:18:01
Here I can sign out or we can set myself as busy or do not
00:18:05
disturb or appear away or I can sign out.
00:18:07
Next step as well.
00:18:08
From here and one thing.
00:18:09
I want to show you here is that when
00:18:10
I'm I've also got the Office 365 app open as well, just to show
00:18:13
you how that's integration works so if I click on the Mail app
00:18:16
for example, the Mail tile.
00:18:18
In Office 365 to launch the mailbox.
00:18:22
The Mail application give it a few seconds to load.
00:18:26
And we should see that presence information in the availability
00:18:30
information that permeates through to these products as
00:18:32
well it will take a few seconds just for the different folders
00:18:35
to load up in Outlook.
00:18:38
So you can see here that showing us available, so if I change
00:18:42
that to busy for example, that will update again over here very
00:18:45
brief very quickly and again if I click on away.
00:18:49
that update again.
00:18:50
Let's go back to available again.
00:18:52
see that that presence information permeates throughout
00:18:54
the product and it's sort of common across the products and
00:18:57
that includes also, if we go into the calendar or to people as
00:19:00
well, the same thing would
00:19:02
I'm going to minimize that so we can concentrate on
00:19:04
the Skype for Business tool for a moment so Skype for Business
00:19:09
We can see it's a communication tool for instant
00:19:10
messaging voice and video calls.
00:19:13
And it's laid out into Contacts and conversations and meetings,
00:19:17
so the context is normally main part, you're working this shows
00:19:21
Current Contacts and it shows you in 3 different ways,
00:19:24
so by groups Contacts by groups Contacts by status Contacts by
00:19:28
relationship so in groups.
00:19:30
These can be groups that you define
00:19:32
although it could be sort of system catchall group, so
00:19:34
other Contacts is the group that everyone falls into like a
00:19:38
catchall group when you don't add them to a group of your own
00:19:40
so if you haven't added into your favourites or to a team
00:19:45
down here or subgroup that you may have created so I've created
00:19:47
a couple of groups down here 5SUR5, and a team group and so on.
00:19:51
So if that falls into that bracket.
00:19:53
Then they're going to
00:19:54
other Contacts and you can also have people edit your
00:19:57
So from these users
00:19:58
I've got listed below.
00:19:59
Some of them are selected and added to my favorite list, as well.
00:20:03
appear at the Top here, so that's groups, but sorry
00:20:05
Contacts by group.
00:20:06
The status means that they've listed the same people
00:20:09
but listed in a different way.
00:20:10
They start showing you those who are online.
00:20:12
Those who are away.
00:20:13
Those who are unavailable.
00:20:14
Those who are are unknown, etc as well
00:20:16
and the 3rd are unknown, etc as well, and the 3rd
00:20:17
One is relationships.
00:20:18
So when you see Contacts by relationship.
00:20:21
and determined by their
00:20:22
relationship with you.
00:20:24
As you add them, as a contact to your
00:20:26
So when you add them, You can say all their friend
00:20:27
or family at work colleague an external contact, etc.
00:20:32
essentially you're looking at the same information of
00:20:34
Contacts, but in 3 different ways by groups that you define
00:20:37
by their current status.
00:20:39
You know the availability and
00:20:40
Lastly by the relationship with you as a contact.
00:20:44
You can also see on here a conversation history that
00:20:46
shows you recent calls chats that you've had who with the
00:20:51
representation down the left hand side, the icon represents
00:20:53
the type of cool.
00:20:55
We know whether other type of
00:20:56
conversation was over instant message chat or a meeting or a
00:20:59
voice or video call.
00:21:00
That's represented on the left hand
00:21:02
side there and over here is any meetings again that you've
00:21:05
had you can set up any meetings.
00:21:06
You got scheduled
00:21:07
will be listed in there as well.
00:21:10
OK to to start key instant message chat with someone you
00:21:14
can just hover over their picture here notice.
00:21:17
remote control option here coming out, he hover over a
00:21:20
And you get these buttons that allow you to
00:21:22
interact with that user so send an IM is message chat.
00:21:25
Video sorry voice call video call or view their contact card.
00:21:30
So if I click on instant message here, you'll see we get hints
00:21:33
message window pops up.
00:21:35
When we can start obviously type in the
00:21:36
start chat with that user that users not currently online so we
00:21:39
don't need to do that.
00:21:40
But you can see what we can do from
00:21:41
here, you can see that we can also transfer files.
00:21:45
add other participants at the moment.
00:21:46
It's just the two of us
00:21:48
We can choose add participants up here and then
00:21:50
select other people to drag them to the conversation and then click OK
00:21:54
to add them to the list.
00:21:55
You also got the option of dragging
00:21:56
people in so you can drag someone from this side over here
00:21:59
and add them as a participant that way to the list.
00:22:01
I leave it as it is for the moment, so we got myself and Guillaume in this
00:22:07
Other things, I can do from here.
00:22:09
can see I can escalate this so we may have been chatting about
00:22:10
a particular report.
00:22:11
or even discussing or working on
00:22:12
collaboratively or we might decide we need to have a
00:22:15
telephone call about it or perhaps a video call but also
00:22:18
have the option of presenting so I showed you this one of the
00:22:21
slides earlier so you can do things like have notes or add
00:22:24
attachments or co-author on office documents, but you can
00:22:27
also do presentation remotely so as to present your desktop your
00:22:30
entire desktop an individual program or a PowerPoint file so
00:22:34
present a PowerPoint file and work with it with Guillaume
00:22:37
or present it to him at least I just select the file click on
00:22:39
open takes a few seconds to load up and then expands the window,
00:22:43
so I drag the window across a
00:22:45
Let's see that now uploading into the window.
00:22:47
And then expand to allow us to then view those slides.
00:22:52
As I'm presenting that so I'm presenting this to the other
00:22:55
user, but it also gives us some capabilities for collaboration
00:22:58
in terms of production tools as you'll see 2 things do things
00:23:02
like highlighting and writing on the slide and that kind of
00:23:04
thing, so I'm looking at the slides here and I can then go
00:23:06
through the slide presentation as we chat over here in the chat
00:23:09
box discussing what's on the slide?
00:23:12
What we're presenting and
00:23:13
we can see we've got some editing tools up here.
00:23:16
For annotating so we can do you know right text and highlight
00:23:19
stuff and change the colors and?
00:23:21
Size of the pen and that sort of thing to highlight the things
00:23:26
We're talking about as we have our chat, so this
00:23:28
isn't the same thing as working on in real time, collaborating
00:23:31
to file a power point file.
00:23:32
This is just presenting it in order
00:23:33
sort of remote capacity to discuss it and talk about and
00:23:38
annotate as a slideshow rather than actually working on the
00:23:44
And then when we finished presenting we can
00:23:45
just stop presenting we've finished discussing on to
00:23:47
discuss and hide the stage if you go back to the small
00:23:50
window again and carry on a conversation and then when
00:23:54
Just click across up here to close down that
00:23:59
And the last thing or 2 and here's the couple of things on
00:24:01
status that are up here.
00:24:02
It shows your current status.
00:24:04
So this can just
00:24:05
be you know what you're up to today or I'm working from home today.
00:24:09
For example, that kind of things, it's just sort of
00:24:13
Update of what you're up to and what you doing?
00:24:16
are, but also want to show the options up here.
00:24:19
the cog icon opens up various options to Skype for Business,
00:24:21
or some other general.
00:24:24
Some personal so things like your
00:24:25
sign in address personal
00:24:28
How you want your contact list displayed you know... in what order...
00:24:32
do you want this shown as active... inactive rather when
00:24:35
you've been idle for 15 minutes or do you want to be
00:24:37
changed from inactive to away again for further period of
00:24:42
There's options for changing your picture your
00:24:43
phones how you receive alerts.
00:24:46
IM options ringtones audio video
00:24:49
devices for collaboration for.
00:24:53
Voice and video calls and so on, and other things as well.
00:24:55
Like you know recording where you want to set your
00:24:57
recordings and that kind of thing.
00:25:00
So we just switch back to the
00:25:07
So we saw in Skype for Business how it can
00:25:10
help us finalize the documents remotely by using a very simple
00:25:13
and easy to use tool that gets us... Skype for
00:25:16
Business, which gets us information about people's
00:25:18
availability immediately... are they available right now.
00:25:23
a chat session with them or possibly a voice or video
00:25:28
could be escalated to a voice or video call and as part of that
00:25:30
conference voice or video conference.
00:25:33
working, collaborating on documents as attachments or
00:25:36
co-authoring or presenting files when presenting a desktop
00:25:39
that kind of thing.
00:25:44
So those tools, we've looked at brief in this session can help us
00:25:46
sort of find and work collaboratively with coworkers.
00:25:48
Even if some of them aren't in the same location as us or if they're in remote
00:25:52
locations or not in the office so you could have several people
00:25:55
working on the same file at the same time with Real Time
00:25:57
collaboration co-authoring and you can visually see who's
00:26:00
working on what part of the file...
00:26:02
Whether a Word or a PowerPoint file, Excel etc.
00:26:06
And you can see simple communication tools to have
00:26:08
quick instant message chat.
00:26:09
IM chats or to hold voice
00:26:12
and video conference calls and again
00:26:14
you can as we saw we
00:26:15
could use those different collaboration tools and
00:26:18
features to collaborate with our coworkers.
00:26:23
So Office 365 gives us a quick access to those tools from
00:26:27
the Start menu on Online versions... Word online gives us that
00:26:30
capability of co-authoring quick visual representations of
00:26:33
who's working on the project at the same time as us and what area
00:26:36
they're working in and the secure versioning and
00:26:40
And that Skype for Business is simple to use, it gives us availability
00:26:43
information, presence information permeated throughout the product
00:26:45
and also allows us to use various production tools to work
00:26:48
collaboratively with our
00:26:51
So post-training... there are several post training
00:26:53
resources available to you to further enhance your mood training
00:26:57
You can view the recordings of previous webcast
00:27:01
You can access relevant video tutorials.
00:27:04
can review usage scenarios provide feedback on your
00:27:06
experience as well, and you can also access MOOC specific groups
00:27:10
on Yammer for further information and to extend your
00:27:14
support and your experience.
00:27:15
In that area as well, just want to show you what the MOOC website
00:27:20
looks like so you can go and look at these post course resources.
00:27:26
So here we're looking at a course called how to communicate who
00:27:28
can help me for example, in the Office 365 training site and you
00:27:31
can look at information about web conference here when the
00:27:33
next available sessions are you can review the webcast you can
00:27:36
look at usage situations.
00:27:39
This little small video snippets of those situations.
00:27:44
the MOOC website that make homepage.
00:27:47
Showing all the different
00:27:48
types of online training resource is on the portal so you
00:27:50
can view all courses.
00:27:51
You can do... you could look at courses just by use
00:27:55
Uh... Courses by product...
00:27:57
And you can view courses on Get started with
00:28:00
Office 365 banner as well.
00:28:03
And then when you click on one.
00:28:04
He'll take that course page and you can then look at the
00:28:07
resource is available.
00:28:08
So you know web conference next
00:28:09
available sessions for that.
00:28:12
You can look at the webcasts
00:28:13
there's no recording for this one yet on here.
00:28:16
recording has been made you will be able to view that at a later date.
00:28:19
You can also use situation videos.
00:28:21
And then you can maybe mode one or more of those for each of the
00:28:24
different courses video tutorials also available here,
00:28:28
so links to video tutorials for different products covered
00:28:30
by that particular piece of training and under the
00:28:33
tutoring section where you get access to the Yammer group, so
00:28:35
you get a login page
00:28:36
there to log into Yammer and work with
00:28:39
other people who attended the same course and communicate
00:28:42
in a sort of enterprise social network environment.
00:28:47
OK so that concludes this short
00:28:50
Like to thank you for
00:28:53
And hope you can make the best use of this resource
00:28:55
in your future and once again.
00:28:57
Thank you for attending.
