Training Theme
This training explores the mechanisms that transform a disagreement into a conflict and proposes strategies to avoid this escalation. She identifies three types of disagreement: on objectives ("where we are going"), on methods ("how we are going") and on cooperation. Conflict arises when a disagreement combines with the interdependence of the parties and negative emotions. The training proposes two constructive alternatives: either to find a "third way" enriched by dialogue, or to accept separate paths. She stresses the importance of listening and mutual understanding before finding solutions.
