the latest news on teleworking.

00:00:04

As of the back to school season of 2024,

00:00:07

2 giants of the mobile telephony industry,

00:00:10

Blue Mobile and Yellow Mobile,

00:00:12

are adopting diametrically opposed strategies.

00:00:16

While Blue Mobile has recalled its troops to the office,

00:00:19

citing a decline in creativity and performance,

00:00:22

Yellow Mobile has opted for complete teleworking for those who desire it,

00:00:26

noting an improvement in engagement and innovation.

00:00:30

Why such a difference?

00:00:32

Our teams investigated on the ground of these two competing

00:00:35

companies in the same market to understand this gap.

00:00:39

Why hasn't Yellow Mobile experienced the difficulties of Blue Mobile?

00:00:43

How is it that Blue Mobile has reversed its decisions in

00:00:46

favor of teleworking to force a return to the office?

00:00:50

We investigated,

00:00:51

met with leaders,

00:00:52

and interviewed numerous collaborators.

00:00:54

We conducted an audit with a consulting firm to

00:00:57

better understand the operation of these two companies.

00:01:01

Here are the 6 notable differences that seem to

00:01:04

explain the success of teleworking at Yellow Mobile.

00:01:07

Equipment and technology.

00:01:09

Yellow Mobile invested more broadly in robust technological infrastructures

00:01:14

and the most efficient collaborative applications.

00:01:17

A technical team supports any requests from collaborators on this subject.

00:01:22

Work,

00:01:23

Comfort.

00:01:24

Yellow Mobile ensured that its employees had an adequate work

00:01:27

environment at home or easy access to a co-working space.

00:01:31

Company culture.

00:01:32

A culture embracing autonomy,

00:01:35

flexibility,

00:01:35

and remote work was established at Yellow Mobile

00:01:38

with an emphasis on training related to teleworking

00:01:41

offered to all employees.

00:01:44

Manager training

00:01:45

at Yellow Mobile,

00:01:47

managers are trained in remote management and supported by a dedicated team.

00:01:51

They are not alone.

00:01:53

Passion for work.

00:01:55

Employees of Yellow Mobile,

00:01:57

passionate about their work,

00:01:58

maintain their motivation even remotely.

00:02:01

Motivation and enjoyment at work have always been a

00:02:04

priority for Yellow Mobile long before the COVID crisis.

00:02:08

Maturity and co-responsibility,

00:02:11

autonomy and initiative have always been encouraged as well as work-life balance.

00:02:16

The command and control management style had long been abandoned by Yellow Mobile.

00:02:21

Trust-based management was already in place,

00:02:23

ready to face the distance.

00:02:26

Considering these points,

00:02:27

we understand that Blue Mobile did not

00:02:29

have the maturity to maintain its performance

00:02:32

when its employees could take 2 to 3 days of teleworking per week.

00:02:36

We wish good luck to Yellow Mobile in the choice it offers to up to 100% teleworking.
