the marketing manager,

00:00:03

was an undisputed master of dashboards.

00:00:06

They were her eyes in the vastness of digital marketing,

00:00:09

her compass in the ocean of data.

00:00:11

Her Excel spreadsheet was her sanctuary.

00:00:15

Every morning Alice dove into the depths of her tables and kept an eye on everything

00:00:20

campaign performance,

00:00:21

web traffic analysis,

00:00:23

social media engagement,

00:00:25

content performance,

00:00:26

customer satisfaction,

00:00:27

feedback,

00:00:28

competitive analysis,

00:00:29

budget and spending,

00:00:31

and of course tracking the team's goals and each collaborator's KPIs.

00:00:36

She emerged with precise directives,

00:00:38

numerical objectives which she poured into her

00:00:41

team like sacred equations carved in stone.

00:00:44

Her collaborators never had access to her tables.

00:00:48

For some,

00:00:49

these tables were proof of Alice's remarkable intelligence,

00:00:52

and for others,

00:00:53

they were evidence of her excessive need for control.

00:00:56

They felt that she had made decisions more based on

00:00:59

the data from her tables than by listening to them,

00:01:02

her collaborators,

00:01:04

until the day her manager asked her to be more participatory

00:01:08

and to rely on collective intelligence in her decision making.

00:01:12

With palpable hesitation,

00:01:14

Alice invited her team aboard her data ship.

00:01:17

Together they began to redesign the dashboard,

00:01:20

injecting their perceptions,

00:01:22

ideas,

00:01:22

and color.

00:01:24

The once austere dashboard transformed into a colorful mosaic.

00:01:28

Instead of being an end in itself,

00:01:30

it became a link between her,

00:01:32

her team,

00:01:32

and the market,

00:01:34

a living board where each team member could see the trace of their contribution.

00:01:38

The numbers were now familiar friends

00:01:40

telling stories of success and lessons learned

00:01:43

during meetings,

00:01:44

ideas to improve indicators abounded.

00:01:48

Alice then wondered,

00:01:49

smiling,

00:01:50

why she'd waited so long to share the

00:01:52

information and build the dashboard with her team.
