the mood was gloomy.

00:00:06

The company Technord had been there for decades,

00:00:08

a pillar of the local economy,

00:00:11

but the director,

00:00:12

Mister Lefeve,

00:00:13

dreamed of new horizons.

00:00:15

He wanted to move the company to the south to more dynamic and sunnier regions.

00:00:19

He felt that this change would be the lever of future prosperity.

00:00:24

One morning he shared his dream with his teams.

00:00:26

Some were excited.

00:00:28

But many were reluctant,

00:00:29

accustomed to their routine,

00:00:31

frightened by the unknown.

00:00:33

They only saw the immediate disadvantages,

00:00:35

leaving their homes,

00:00:36

families,

00:00:37

friends.

00:00:38

The gravity of the present firmly held them to the ground,

00:00:41

a physical,

00:00:42

emotional,

00:00:43

and mental gravity of which they were not even aware.

00:00:47

Mister Lefeve,

00:00:48

armed with his determination,

00:00:49

began to outline this new future.

00:00:52

He organized brainstorming sessions,

00:00:54

invited external speakers to talk about the benefits of change,

00:00:58

and offered financial incentives.

00:01:01

Little by little,

00:01:02

some passive and hesitant individuals began to break free

00:01:05

from the gravity that had kept them stuck,

00:01:08

imagining a better future in the South.

00:01:11

The day of the big move arrived.

00:01:13

Part of the team packed their bags,

00:01:16

excited by the new adventure.

00:01:18

Others chose to stay gritting their teeth.

00:01:21

How could one blame them?

00:01:22

They'd not been able to overcome the gravity that held them in their habits.

00:01:27

They had no other dreams than to keep the system in place.

00:01:31

Hope and the vision of a better future are the most effective levers of change.

00:01:36

They make change lighter and more joyful,

00:01:39

regardless of the inevitable challenges to be faced.

00:01:42

Without them,

00:01:43

it is quite logical and reasonable to oppose change.

00:01:47

It's hard to break free from gravity

00:01:50

in the South.

00:01:51

Technord transformed.

00:01:53

The company prospered.

00:01:54

The teams were invigorated by the sun and new opportunities.

00:01:58

Those who had followed Mister de la Favre were happy.

00:02:01

Their salaries were increased

00:02:03

and their enthusiasm radiated throughout the region.

00:02:06

Mister Le Favre was delighted to see that this

00:02:09

team that had followed him harbored talents for creativity

00:02:13

and innovation that were missing in those whom gravity had kept in the north.

00:02:18

In the north,

00:02:18

those who had stayed continued to consider themselves victims of

00:02:22

the director's choice and to justify their refusal to move.

00:02:26

Gravity had gotten the better of them,

00:02:29

but life would offer them other opportunities to break free.
