Maria Zepes recounts a provocative story told by the Count of Saint-Germain

00:00:08

to Queen Marie Antoinette.

00:00:10

Here is a summary.

00:00:11

Once two islands stood in the middle of the Mediterranean,

00:00:15

the only remnants of a completely submerged empire.

00:00:19

On one of them,

00:00:20

adults thrived seeking to rebuild,

00:00:23

to understand sciences,

00:00:24

and to preserve the laws of peaceful coexistences from the past.

00:00:29

When the adults thought it was time for their children to take over,

00:00:32

they discovered that the children had become wild.

00:00:36

They opted for wandering,

00:00:37

competition,

00:00:38

fighting,

00:00:39

refusal to learn,

00:00:40

and boasting.

00:00:42

The adults tried to teach them self control,

00:00:45

respect for others,

00:00:46

and responsibility,

00:00:48

but the children rebelled,

00:00:50

refusing the effort,

00:00:51

they then went to the other island to establish their own free empire of children.

00:00:57

Arriving on this second island,

00:00:59

they built wooden houses.

00:01:01

Some were much more beautiful.

00:01:03

They were built by children physically weaker but mentally smarter than others.

00:01:08

The strongest who excelled in combat

00:01:11

could only produce formless and ugly shelters,

00:01:13

as their hands and minds were clumsy and inexperienced.

00:01:17

Jealous,

00:01:18

they forced the weaker ones to leave their beautiful homes to occupy them.

00:01:23

When they saw that the weak were easily intimidated,

00:01:26

they became drunk with power.

00:01:29

Their society was then organized around

00:01:31

dominance based purely on physical strength.

00:01:34

The most powerful,

00:01:35

driven by a hunger for power and desire to possess,

00:01:38

took control,

00:01:40

not because of superior intelligence,

00:01:42

but simply due to their brute strength.

00:01:45

Their regime was marked by oppression,

00:01:47

with slaves subjected to their will.

00:01:50

However,

00:01:50

dominance by force had a hidden cost.

00:01:53

By constantly oppressing,

00:01:55

the dominance bred deep hatred in the dominated.

00:01:58

Fear was the main tool used to maintain power,

00:02:01

but each time fear diminished despite repression,

00:02:04

a spark of rebellion appeared.

00:02:07

The injustice suffered by the dominated only fueled

00:02:10

their desire for freedom and their resistance.

00:02:14

Finally,

00:02:14

this accumulated hatred erupted in a revolution.

00:02:18

The slaves,

00:02:19

no longer afraid,

00:02:20

defied their oppressors.

00:02:22

They no longer accepted unjust laws against them.

00:02:26

Alas,

00:02:26

far from being a solution,

00:02:28

this revolution paved the way for a cycle of vengeance and repression.

00:02:33

The adults who continued their conscious life on the other island

00:02:37

learned what was happening on the island of children,

00:02:39

and they were deeply saddened.

00:02:41

They held a council and decided to send emissaries to both

00:02:45

groups to try to maintain tension below the breaking point.

00:02:49

But the emissaries could do nothing.

00:02:51

Emotions were too intense.

00:02:54

The tyrants did not want to give up their luxurious life.

00:02:57

They buried their heads in the sand like ostriches

00:03:00

and pretended nothing was wrong by repressing every attempt at rebellion.

00:03:05

As for the bitter and starving slaves,

00:03:08

they had become obsessed with the smothering hatred for their masters.

00:03:12

The group of adults was overwhelmed with compassion and sorrow,

00:03:16

but their leader,

00:03:17

the oldest and wisest adult,

00:03:19

remained calm.

00:03:20

These children cannot learn through the words we have passed on to them.

00:03:24

Children must live this reality of imbalance before it makes sense to them.

00:03:29

The words of our emissaries will remain dormant

00:03:32

until the flow of passionate events realizes them.

00:03:35

When passions subside,

00:03:37

it will come to life.

00:03:39

The bloodbath occurred as the conscious adults had predicted.

00:03:43

The children turned again and again to the enemy group and also killed each other.

00:03:48

The fighting has not yet ended.

00:03:50

They will end when the children understand the law of balance

00:03:54

and stop shifting the burden onto the other.

00:03:58

That burden that constantly comes back to crush them.
