It was the first time they worked together.

00:00:07

One day,

00:00:07

Peter noticed that Julie had modified a graph without telling him.

00:00:11

Instead of talking to her about it,

00:00:14

he whispered to his office neighbor,

00:00:16

With these changes,

00:00:17

we've lost the essence of the message we need to convey.

00:00:20

On the other hand,

00:00:21

Julie felt frustrated by how Peter made

00:00:24

an essential decision without consulting her.

00:00:27

But instead of sharing her concerns with him,

00:00:29

she complained to a colleague during a coffee break.

00:00:32

Peter thinks he knows everything.

00:00:34

He treats me like his assistant.

00:00:37

As days passed,

00:00:38

unspoken issues accumulated,

00:00:40

and the project began to veer in contradictory directions.

00:00:44

Neither of them took the step to exchange or share their feelings.

00:00:48

During the final presentation to their manager,

00:00:50

Monica,

00:00:51

it was evident that the project sorely lacked coherence.

00:00:55

She exclaimed,

00:00:56

It's disjointed.

00:00:58

It looks like two projects in one.

00:01:00

What happened?

00:01:01

Hesitantly,

00:01:03

Peter and Julie finally dared to confront each other.

00:01:06

Why did you change the graph without talking to me?

00:01:09

asked Peter.

00:01:10

And you,

00:01:11

Why did you make that decision without discussing it with me?

00:01:14

retorted Julie.

00:01:15

You're getting lost in the details,

00:01:17

Peter continued.

00:01:19

You're losing sight of the client's needs,

00:01:21

Julie replied.

00:01:23

Monica burst out laughing and declared,

00:01:26

It seems that you have now received the necessary feedback

00:01:29

from each other for the project to be successful.

00:01:32

I knew that together you had the combined skills.

00:01:35

Now get to work.

00:01:37

Peter and Julie looked at each other,

00:01:39

surprised by the manager's cheerful tone when they expected severe reprimands.

00:01:44

The tension dissipated in an instant,

00:01:47

and they understood.

00:01:49

The problem was indeed not their lack of competence or professionalism.

00:01:53

The problem was that they'd waited too long to give each other feedback.
