00:00:02
a young and passionate sound engineer,
00:00:04
had devoted months to developing a revolutionary program.
00:00:08
His invention could analyze and recreate emotions in a vocal text,
00:00:12
bringing artificial voices to life,
00:00:15
gravity,
00:00:16
questioning,
00:00:17
fear,
00:00:18
determination,
00:00:19
amusement,
00:00:21
joy,
00:00:22
anger,
00:00:23
all of this could be decrypted and recreated in all languages.
00:00:27
His presentation to the company's executive committee
00:00:30
was the culmination of his hard work.
00:00:33
However,
00:00:34
on the day of the presentation,
00:00:36
Maxim was not prepared for objections.
00:00:38
He had envisioned an enthusiastic reception
00:00:41
and had not anticipated critical questions.
00:00:44
When the committee began questioning the viability and necessity of his project,
00:00:49
he felt destabilized.
00:00:51
His preparation had focused on technical aspects,
00:00:54
neglecting the commercial and strategic aspects.
00:00:57
Moreover,
00:00:58
Maxim lacked communication skills.
00:01:01
He struggled to express his ideas clearly and did
00:01:04
not know how to effectively respond to objections.
00:01:08
When committee members asked questions,
00:01:10
he did not take the time to properly understand and reformulate their objection.
00:01:14
He defended himself by attacking and dismantling the audience's objection,
00:01:19
showing that it was not essential or not well founded.
00:01:23
His emotional attachment to the project made any objection unbearable.
00:01:28
He had dreamed of transforming the sound industry
00:01:31
and could not accept that his idea might be imperfect
00:01:34
or unsuited to the company's current needs.
00:01:37
Each question seemed to question not only his
00:01:40
project but also his competence as an engineer.
00:01:43
Maxim had invested so much emotion and energy in his work
00:01:47
that any criticism felt like a direct attack against him.
00:01:51
Finally,
00:01:52
his lack of professional experience was evident.
00:01:55
This was his first public presentation.
00:01:58
He lacked the maturity to understand that objections could be
00:02:01
constructive and contribute to the improvement of his invention.
00:02:06
He did not grasp that constructive criticism was
00:02:09
essential to the success of any innovation.
00:02:12
The presentation turned into a disaster.
00:02:16
Overwhelmed by emotion,
00:02:18
Maxim abruptly left the room,
00:02:20
leaving behind a perplexed committee and a missed opportunity.
00:02:25
That day,
00:02:25
he learned a difficult but essential lesson.
00:02:28
The ability to handle objections is as important as the innovation itself.
