His meetings were not the typical boring
00:00:07
appointments that employees felt obliged to attend.
00:00:10
They were real events that no one wanted to miss.
00:00:13
Whenever one received an invitation from Mark,
00:00:16
it was like discovering a treasure island map
00:00:19
instead of the traditional email invitation notification.
00:00:22
Service meeting at 10 a.m. in room A.
00:00:25
The invitation was a boarding pass for a journey.
00:00:28
boarding for a new stopover at 10 a.m.,
00:00:30
it read.
00:00:32
Entering the meeting room,
00:00:33
the atmosphere had completely changed.
00:00:35
The soft lighting,
00:00:37
the carefully arranged chairs in a circle,
00:00:39
drinks offered,
00:00:40
the soothing sound of waves and sea birds projected on the screen.
00:00:44
Everything was designed to make the participants comfortable and engaged.
00:00:49
Mark had a unique way of leading his meetings.
00:00:52
He always started by unfolding a huge mind map illustrating
00:00:56
the points to be discussed like islands in an archipelago.
00:00:59
Each island was a stage of the meeting,
00:01:02
a topic to explore.
00:01:04
Mark used a variety of visual aids ranging from AI designed slides to short videos,
00:01:09
making each topic as attractive as a stopover in a distant country.
00:01:14
Employees left these journeys not only with
00:01:17
a clear understanding of the topics discussed
00:01:20
but also with the feeling of having lived an experience.
00:01:23
They felt like sailors entrusted with a common and exciting mission,
00:01:27
eagerly anticipating the next invitation to travel.
00:01:31
Thus,
00:01:31
whilst most managers struggled to get full participation in their meetings,
00:01:36
Mark had managed to make these moments anticipated occasions,
00:01:40
journeys that no one wanted to miss.
00:01:42
He always said a team happy to come to a
00:01:45
meeting is a team 200% engaged during the meeting.
00:01:50
Isn't it worth preparing the most beautiful journey for them?
