Teams - Create a team and add members Tutorial

Create a team in Microsoft Teams from scratch, then add members. Start by selecting New item, then New team, and choose private to limit access. Name the team (and optionally describe its purpose) and create the first channel, typically General. Add members by entering names or emails, assign roles (member or owner), and click Add or Skip to invite later. After creation, open the team’s General channel to start posting, sharing files, and using tabs to collaborate on the project.

and add members to it.
00:00:08
A team is a shared workspace.
00:00:11
It allows you to group people,
00:00:14
conversations,
00:00:14
files,
00:00:15
and tools around a common project,
00:00:18
department,
00:00:19
or goal.
00:00:20
First,
00:00:21
click on the new item button
00:00:23
from the menu that opens,
00:00:25
choose new team.
00:00:27
You will then be taken to the team creation screen.
00:00:31
Teams can then offer you several ways to get started.
00:00:35
You can create a team from scratch or use a template.
00:00:39
Templates make it possible to get started faster
00:00:42
with a structure that is already prepared.
00:00:45
For example,
00:00:46
a project management template can automatically create multiple channels
00:00:51
and add useful apps like lists,
00:00:54
a scheduler,
00:00:55
or a note space.
00:00:56
For this tutorial we're going to create a simple team from scratch.
00:01:01
In the creation window,
00:01:03
fill in the name of the team
00:01:04
and optionally add a description
00:01:07
to explain the purpose of this space.
00:01:09
Then check the type of team.
00:01:11
In the example shown,
00:01:13
the team is set to private.
00:01:15
This means that only people who have been added
00:01:17
or invited will be able to access this team.
00:01:20
You must also fill in the name of the first channel.
00:01:23
This channel will serve as a starting point for the team's exchanges.
00:01:27
It can for example be named general
00:01:31
when the necessary information is completed,
00:01:33
the create button becomes available.
00:01:36
Click on it to create the team.
00:01:38
Teams then confirms the creation of the team.
00:01:41
A new window will then offer you to add members
00:01:45
in the field provided.
00:01:47
Enter the name or email address of the person you wanna add.
00:01:51
When the person appears in the results,
00:01:53
select them.
00:01:54
You can then choose the role.
00:01:56
The member role allows the person to participate in conversations,
00:02:01
access files,
00:02:02
and collaborate in the team.
00:02:04
The owner role gives more rights.
00:02:06
An owner can manage the team,
00:02:08
add or remove members,
00:02:10
and change certain settings.
00:02:12
Once you've chosen the role,
00:02:14
click add.
00:02:16
If you don't want to add a member right away,
00:02:19
you can also click skip and do it later.
00:02:22
After creation,
00:02:23
the team appears in teams.
00:02:26
You arrive in the first channel of the team,
00:02:28
for example,
00:02:29
the general channel
00:02:31
from this space,
00:02:32
members can publish messages,
00:02:34
share files,
00:02:35
and collaborate in the various tabs available.
00:02:38
What you learned,
00:02:39
create a team in Microsoft Teams and add members to it.
