catalog and selected specific tech items for my team,

00:00:12

including headsets,

00:00:13

mice,

00:00:14

and mouse pads.

00:00:17

Now I need to reach out to my potential supplier

00:00:20

to discuss pricing options.

00:00:22

As the selections have pushed me slightly over budget.

00:00:26

To draft a contextual email in Outlook,

00:00:28

I start by copying relevant parts of my

00:00:30

chat GPT discussion directly from my chat history.

00:00:35

This will be the basis for my prompt.

00:00:37

I then start drafting a detailed prompt,

00:00:40

specifying my profession and mission,

00:00:42

the context of the request,

00:00:43

the selected items,

00:00:45

my budget,

00:00:46

and my pricing expectations,

00:00:48

as well as my desire to receive a prompt response.

00:00:53

After a few seconds,

00:00:54

Chat GPT generates a clear and well structured email.

00:00:58

Perfect.

00:01:00

However,

00:01:00

upon reviewing the generated email,

00:01:03

I realized that an essential point is missing,

00:01:05

the payment terms.

00:01:07

I also noticed that the tone is too impersonal,

00:01:10

using the pronoun we,

00:01:12

whereas I prefer a more direct and engaging approach.

00:01:16

I ask Chat GPT to add a paragraph specifying that I would like payment to

00:01:20

be made by bank transfer within 30 days at the end of the month,

00:01:24

and to rephrase the message in a more engaging manner.

00:01:29

Chat GPT immediately adjusts the email.

00:01:32

The use of I creates a more direct relationship with my recipient,

00:01:36

making my request more personal and engaging.

00:01:39

However,

00:01:40

I now want to add an introduction to provide context about my role.

00:01:44

I then specified a chat GPT that I am Elois,

00:01:48

the assistant of Julie Moudon,

00:01:50

my manager,

00:01:50

who has assigned me the task of ordering the supplies.

00:01:54

Before sending the email,

00:01:55

I carefully review the content to ensure it perfectly matches my request.

00:02:01

I copy and paste the generated email into Outlook,

00:02:04

add the recipients and subject line,

00:02:06

and then proceed with sending the message.

00:02:08

I emphasize the importance of always reviewing AI generated content.

00:02:13

As a chat GPT user,

00:02:15

I take full responsibility for the content I produce.

00:02:18

In my view,

00:02:19

Chat GPT and I have successfully achieved our goal,

00:02:23

both in terms of structure and substance and in record time.
