We are now working as a sales team

00:00:02

in the SharePoint site and we have

00:00:05

created a client's folders library.

00:00:08

This document library allows us to

00:00:10

store all the documents related

00:00:12

to the clients so that all of

00:00:15

our colleagues can now go there,

00:00:17

modify the data and use them.

00:00:19

The thing is we have on this

00:00:22

website on this SharePoint site.

00:00:25

On actual clients they

00:00:27

have the visitors rights,

00:00:28

so therefore can only view the

00:00:31

documents without modifying them.

00:00:33

But I would like to make sure that

00:00:36

my clients do not have access to

00:00:38

all the files in this library.

00:00:41

How can I manage ermissions of

00:00:43

a specific document library?

00:00:44

I have to start by going into

00:00:47

that said document

00:00:48

library, then click on

00:00:49

the gear icon at the top

00:00:51

right of my screen. Library settings.

00:00:57

And we will go check more library settings.

00:01:02

Once in this menu they want that interest

00:01:05

us is Ermissions for this document library.

00:01:11

By default there is an inheritance

00:01:14

of the permissions of that

00:01:17

website so the members can edit.

00:01:19

The owners of the SharePoint site have

00:01:23

more control and visitors can only read.

00:01:27

I wish to stop the inheritance.

00:01:30

Validate this message.

00:01:35

Just select the visitors and

00:01:37

simply remove user permissions.

00:01:38

Once validated, anyone in that group

00:01:40

will no longer have access to that library.

00:01:43

If you have made any mistake,

00:01:45

if anything has to change,

00:01:47

you need to go back to the

00:01:49

way things were. You just

00:01:51

have to click on Delete unique permissions.

00:01:56

Which will restore the inheritance

00:01:59

that was there previously.
