Clipchamp - Use Filters, Effects, and Visual Adjustments in Clipchamp Tutorial

Clipchamp's right panel shows filters, effects and color adjustments when a timeline asset is selected. Filters apply a look with adjustable intensity. Effects add dynamics like a slow zoom, with customizable area, intensity and, for cinematic options, grain. Be aware that applying a second effect combines with the first, so disable the prior one if needed. The green screen tool removes the background for overlaying new scenes, with adjustable tolerance. Color adjustments cover exposure, contrast, saturation and color temperature, while blend mode controls how overlapping tracks mix.

00:00:06
the property panel on the right provides a range of customization options
00:00:11
including filters,
00:00:12
effects,
00:00:13
and color adjustments.
00:00:15
Let's start with filters
00:00:16
which allow you to apply an overall look to your clip.
00:00:20
The choice of filters is somewhat limited,
00:00:23
but their intensity can be adjusted as we can see here.
00:00:27
Another option and probably a more useful one
00:00:31
is effects.
00:00:33
Depending on the effect you choose,
00:00:35
you can make your content more dynamic by applying,
00:00:38
for example,
00:00:39
a slow zoom.
00:00:43
You can define the area of the screen to zoom in on
00:00:46
as well as the intensity of the effect,
00:00:49
which can be quite useful.
00:00:51
Other effects are more cinematic,
00:00:54
such as the VHS effect.
00:00:56
The available settings depend on the effect you've selected.
00:01:00
Here,
00:01:00
for example,
00:01:01
I can adjust the amount of grain
00:01:03
and the intensity.
00:01:05
Be careful
00:01:06
if you apply a second effect,
00:01:08
both effects will be combined.
00:01:10
So remember to disable the first effect before applying another one.
00:01:15
Among the available effects,
00:01:17
Clipcham also offers the green screen option.
00:01:20
It allows you to isolate a subject filmed against a solid color background
00:01:24
and place it over another scene.
00:01:27
Here I'll add a clip recorded against a green screen to the timeline
00:01:31
and then apply the corresponding effect.
00:01:34
The background is removed,
00:01:35
leaving only the main subject visible.
00:01:38
If necessary,
00:01:39
you can adjust the tolerance level or the color to be removed.
00:01:47
To improve the result,
00:01:49
if my goal is simply to correct the appearance of the media,
00:01:53
the color adjustment options allow me to modify the exposure,
00:01:57
contrast,
00:01:58
saturation,
00:02:00
or even color temperature.
00:02:02
The blend mode option is more specific.
00:02:06
It controls how media placed on different tracks are combined when they overlap.
00:02:11
Of course
00:02:12
you'll only need this when the situation calls for it
00:02:16
and when the clips are suitable for this type of editing.
00:02:19
Blending two media assets isn't always straightforward as you can see here.
