Clipchamp - Add Text in Clipchamp Tutorial

Add text in Clipchamp by opening the text menu from the side panel or from the timeline, then choose a predesigned text element and insert it with the plus sign. Replace sample text, set duration, and adjust font size, color, and shadow with the palette and eyedropper. Center the text using magnetic guides, add a subtitle with drag-and-drop, test rotation, and apply bold, italic, or alignment changes from the three-dot menu. Finally, fine-tune position and rotation, then play to review.

00:00:07
can easily be done either by clicking the text menu in the side panel
00:00:12
or directly from the timeline
00:00:14
if the option is available there.
00:00:16
In both cases,
00:00:17
the dedicated panel opens
00:00:20
displaying a selection of predesigned text elements that
00:00:23
can simply be inserted by clicking the plus sign
00:00:26
as I'm doing here.
00:00:28
I can then directly replace the sample text.
00:00:32
I'll take this opportunity to set the duration to match my introductory scene.
00:00:37
The text elements are organized into categories
00:00:40
with the classic options at the top,
00:00:43
the full library in the middle,
00:00:45
and the more stylized options at the bottom of the panel.
00:00:49
Next,
00:00:50
using the toolbar,
00:00:51
I can change the color.
00:00:53
Depending on the textile I've selected,
00:00:56
I can set the color of both the text and its shadow directly from a palette
00:01:02
using the eyedropper.
00:01:03
I can also pick a color from the background of my clip.
00:01:06
I'll then adjust the size of the text area
00:01:10
and most importantly the font size.
00:01:13
I'll finish by positioning the text box in the center
00:01:17
using the magnetic alignment guides that appear automatically.
00:01:20
I'll now add a subtitle using drag and drop.
00:01:24
I'll make the same adjustments.
00:01:26
I'll test the rotation,
00:01:28
but I'm not convinced by the result.
00:01:31
I'll therefore select another effect
00:01:33
and drag and drop it onto my subtitle to replace the current one.
00:01:42
If I don't like the font,
00:01:43
I can choose another one from the list available for each effect.
00:01:47
Here I'll adjust the font size and the color
00:01:51
for more options.
00:01:52
The three dot menu in the toolbar
00:01:54
allows me to apply bold or italic formatting
00:01:58
or align the text within the text box.
00:02:01
To center the text box in my video,
00:02:03
the position option allows me to adjust
00:02:06
its horizontal or vertical position directly.
00:02:09
The same applies to the predefined rotation options.
00:02:12
I'll play my sequence to check the result.
00:02:15
It's pretty simple to set up
00:02:17
that looks perfect.
