Teams - Retrieve content from breakout rooms Tutorial

Retrieve content from breakout rooms explains how each group room has its own chat space for messages, files, and shared items. It covers opening rooms, routing participants to rooms, and the organizer joining to monitor activity. It shows how room conversations appear as separate threads, how participants can ask questions or share files, and how shared items stay linked to the room even after leaving or closing. To revisit, return to Teams and open the room’s conversation.

00:00:06
This is where you can find messages,
00:00:08
files,
00:00:08
and items shared during group work.
00:00:11
In this example,
00:00:12
the rooms already exist
00:00:14
and the participants are already distributed.
00:00:17
Start by opening the rooms.
00:00:19
If participants are present in the meeting,
00:00:22
teams sends them to their room according to the settings chosen.
00:00:26
As an organizer,
00:00:27
you can enter a room to follow what is going on.
00:00:30
Click on the three dots of the room,
00:00:33
then click on join.
00:00:35
Once in the room,
00:00:36
open conversation.
00:00:38
Messages from this room appear in a separate thread from the main meeting.
00:00:43
Participants in the room can write.
00:00:46
Ask questions or share files.
00:00:48
If a file is shared in the room,
00:00:50
it remains associated with that conversation.
00:00:54
The same logic applies to other items used in the room,
00:00:58
such as a whiteboard or shared resource,
00:01:01
depending on the tools enabled in your environment.
00:01:03
When you leave the room or when rooms are closed,
00:01:06
these items do not disappear.
00:01:08
To find them later,
00:01:10
go back to teams and open the conversation corresponding to the room.
00:01:14
Rooms appear as separate conversations such as room 1,
00:01:18
room 2,
00:01:19
or with the name you gave the room.
00:01:22
Open the room concerned
00:01:24
in the conversation tab you will find the exchanges that took place in this room.
00:01:29
The organizer can access room conversations to retrieve important information.
00:01:34
The participants,
00:01:35
on the other hand,
00:01:36
find mainly the elements related to the rooms in which they have participated
00:01:41
or to which they have access.
