Teams - Email a Team Tutorial

Open the channel you want to receive emails into and set its access as standard or private. Click the three dots next to the channel name and select get email address; Teams creates a channel-specific address that cannot be changed but can be deleted. In Advanced settings, choose who can write to the address: everyone, only team members, or only emails from listed domains. Save, copy the address, and share it. Emails sent to that address appear in the channel with sender, subject, and content, and can be opened in Outlook from the original link.

00:00:06
regularly needs to pass information to your team
00:00:10
without having access to Teams.
00:00:12
If this exchange goes through the mailbox of a single person,
00:00:16
the information remains isolated and the rest of the team is not aware of it.
00:00:21
Microsoft Teams makes it very easy to solve this problem.
00:00:25
Each channel can receive its own email address
00:00:28
so that any message sent to that address
00:00:31
will appear directly in the conversation
00:00:34
visible to the whole team.
00:00:36
Let's see how to set it up.
00:00:38
Start by choosing or creating the channel that will receive these emails.
00:00:43
The channel could be standard or private depending on your needs.
00:00:48
Then click on the three dots next to the channel name,
00:00:51
then choose
00:00:52
get email address.
00:00:55
Teams automatically generates an address specific to that channel.
00:00:59
This address cannot be changed,
00:01:02
but it can be deleted at any time if you wanna cut off this access.
00:01:06
The same window gives access to advanced settings that determine
00:01:10
who has the right to write to this address.
00:01:12
Everyone internal and external
00:01:15
members of that team only setting applied by default
00:01:19
or only emails from specific domains that you list yourself
00:01:24
to allow an external partner to write to you choose
00:01:28
anyone can send emails to this address,
00:01:30
then click
00:01:31
save.
00:01:33
All that remains is to copy the address and communicate it
00:01:37
as soon as an email is sent to it,
00:01:39
it appears after a few moments directly in the channel with its sender,
00:01:44
subject,
00:01:44
and content.
00:01:45
The view original email link allows you to
00:01:48
open the message as it was received in Outlook
00:01:52
to reply to it or forward it like any other email.
00:01:56
You now know how to give an email address to a team's channel,
00:02:00
secure access according to your needs,
00:02:03
and use the messages received directly in the team chat.
